Ganz so neu ist das Album jetzt nicht mehr, aber ich bin vorher einfach nicht dazu gekommen.<\/p>\n

Als ich die Ank\u00fcndigung f\u00fcr das Album las, war ich begeistert. Ein Album mit Filmmusik. Und dann noch mit Orchesterbegleitung. Toll! Leider bleibt die CD doch sehr hinter meinen Erwartungen zur\u00fcck. Aber lest selbst.<\/p>\n

1 Game of Thrones Medley<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Vielversprechend beginnt die CD mit einem Medley zu der Serie “Game of Thrones”.\u00a0 Ein ruhiger Einstieg, gemeinsam mit dem Orchester wird zu einer Steigerung angesetzt – die dann aber nur minimal passiert. Ein wenig entt\u00e4uschend. Daf\u00fcr, dass sich das Ganze “Medley” nennt, wird doch ziemlich viel mit dem Intro-Thema der Serie gearbeitet. Interessant ist hier vor allem der Teil, in dem ein Cello eine Variation \u00fcber das Thema spielt. Im Gro\u00dfen und Ganzen ist es aber leider doch nur wenig abwechslungsreich.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2 May it Be<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ruhig und entspannend, leider auch ein wenig langweilig. Ein Gesangsst\u00fcck in Instrumental – man h\u00e4tte vielleicht eine etwas spannendere zweite Stimme unter die Melodie spielen k\u00f6nnen. Das Orchester hat zwar einige nette Begleitmelodien, allerdings r\u00fccken diese doch sehr weit in den Hintergrund und in erster Linie wirkt das Lied durch das Orchester nur kitschiger. Au\u00dferdem wirkt der Celloton stellenweise recht “k\u00fcnstlich”, verst\u00e4rkt, verfremdet.. schade, die beiden haben schon oft genug bewiesen, dass sie gut spielen k\u00f6nnen und einen guten Klang haben. Eine unn\u00f6tige Ma\u00dfnahme also.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3 For the Love of a Princess<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ausnahmsweise ein St\u00fcck, das ich vorher noch nicht kannte. Auch hier h\u00e4tte man mehr draus machen k\u00f6nnen. Das Orchester ist wieder in erster Linie ein im Hintergrund bleibender Klangteppich, der das Ganze etwas “verkitscht”, Steigerungen sind eher minimal, wieder ein wenig langweilig. Schade, bei dem sch\u00f6nen St\u00fcck.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4 Love Story<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gut, dieses St\u00fcck muss wohl ein wenig kitschig sein, das werde ich hier nicht kritisieren \ud83d\ude09 Hier gelingt den beiden ein sch\u00f6nes Wechselspiel, ein sch\u00f6nes Arrangement. Das Orchester im Hintergrund ist fast ein wenig \u00fcberfl\u00fcssig.<\/p>\n

5 Cinema Paradiso <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sie schaffen endlich mal eine deutlichere Steigerung. Ganz nett, aber auch wieder nicht zu spannend.<\/p>\n

6 Moon River<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ein nettes Arrangement eigentlich. Es wird nicht mein Lieblingsst\u00fcck, dazu finde ich es nicht spannend genug, aber wirklich viel auszusetzen habe ich daran auch nicht.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7 Love Theme from The Godfather <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Daf\u00fcr dass einige andere St\u00fccke auf dieser CD doch stark “verkitscht” wirken, trifft das auf dieses erstaunlich wenig zu. Also gut, ein wenig schmalzig geh\u00f6rt dieses St\u00fcck ja und das trifft auch hier zu, aber eben nicht mehr als n\u00f6tig. Sch\u00f6n auch, dass nicht, wie sonst meistens bei Interpretationen dieses St\u00fcckes direkt mit dem altbekannten Thema angefangen wird. Es gibt auch eine h\u00f6rbare Steigerung und die verschiedenen Wiederholungen des Hauptthemas sind recht abwechslungsreich. Dieses Arrangement ist gelungen.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

8 My Heart Will Go On<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gut, hier muss ich zugeben, bin ich schon etwas voreingenommen – ich mag das Lied schon im original nicht. Und auch diese Interpretation wird nicht dazu beitragen, dass ich es mag. Aber es ist ganz nett gemacht. Es scheint jedoch kein Ende nehmen zu wollen, nochmal und nochmal in immer kitschiger wird der Refrain hinten drangeh\u00e4ngt…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

9 Rain Man Theme<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Obwohl ich den Film gesehen habe, war mir das Thema nicht mehr so in Erinnerung. Mir gef\u00e4llt es in diesem Arrangement aber ganz gut.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

10 Cavatina<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wieder ein St\u00fcck, das mir vorher nicht bekannt war. Der Film auch nicht. Das Orchester r\u00fcckt mal wieder stark in den Hintergrund. Das St\u00fcck wirkt stellenweise ausdruckslos gespielt, was es leider etwas langweilig macht.<\/p>\n

11 Malena<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mal wieder nicht allzu spannend, leider. Dass es auch anders geht beweist Yo-Yo Ma auf dem Album “Yo-Yo Ma plays Ennio Morricone”…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

12 Schindler’s List Main Theme<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ein wundersch\u00f6nes St\u00fcck, auch ein ganz nettes Arrangement. Die beiden geben sich auch gro\u00dfe M\u00fche, an das Original reicht es aber nicht heran. (Das ist allerdings auch sehr schwer.)<\/p>\n

13 Titles from Chariots of Fire<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Endlich wird das Orchester mal vern\u00fcnftig genutzt und erweckt dieses Mal nicht den Eindruck, dass man es auch h\u00e4tte weglassen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

14 Now We are Free<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sehr passend zum Abschluss des Albums. Wieder mit allem m\u00f6glichen Kitsch, aber ansich ein Arrangement, das mit dem Original gut mithalten kann und das man gerne anh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n

Fazit<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wie schon erw\u00e4hnt, hat das Album meine Erwartungen leider entt\u00e4uscht. Es sind ein paar nette Arrangements dabei, auch die Tatsache, dass ich einige von diesen St\u00fccken einfach sehr mag bringt nat\u00fcrlich einige Pluspunkte ein. Allerdings wirken viele St\u00fccke “verkitscht” und auch der Celloklang scheint teilweise sehr k\u00fcnstlich, was wirklich schade ist. Die Idee das Ganze mit einem Orchester einzuspielen, finde ich ansich auch gut. Sie haben ja auch mit dem London Symphony Orchestra ein bekanntes und rennomiertes Orchester mit an Bord geholt. Allerdings bleibt das Orchester bei den meisten St\u00fccken doch so stark im Hintergrund, dass ein kleineres Ensemble wohl auch ausgereicht h\u00e4tte. Man h\u00e4tte aus der Idee des Albums meiner Meinung nach weitaus mehr machen k\u00f6nnen und aus diesen speziellen Arrangements auch klanglich weitaus mehr herausholen k\u00f6nnen. Schade. Aber es ist trotz allem ganz nett anzuh\u00f6ren. Hin und wieder.<\/p>\n
