Fast & Easy DIY : Elf Shoes

In summer I was again part of the historical market in Reinfeld. The market is always organized by Farmion e.V. . After selling some self-made stuff for the past 2 years, this year was the first where I also played with my band. And of course I needed a costume. I had always borrowed something from my sister but this year I decided I wanted my own outfit. I found a green elvish dress that I liked and I bought elvish ears. And then of course I needed shoes. I thought I had some fitting shoes but turned out I did not. I didn’t have much time left, so I decided to make some myself. It was really easy and fast. And yes, of course they do not look THAT wonderful, but they were totally perfect for this occasion.

Material:

  • a pair of old shoes
  • green felt
  • needle
  • scissors
  • yarn

How to make the shoes:

  1. Cut the green felt into 2 pieces, each has to be big enough to cover one of the shoes.
  2. Use the needle and the yarn to sew the felt onto the shoe.
  3. Cut a hole so you can place your foot in the shoe. And also sew the felt around this hole onto the shoe.
  4.  Do the same with the other shoe.
  5. Done!

Have fun 🙂
